‘Since completing my first marathon last year in London I developed the ‘bug’ for long distance running and quickly signed up the 2012 Paris marathon. Having had no injury problems during my training for the London marathon I assumed that I would be fine. However as I began to step up my training I developed all sorts of aches, the worst being a nerve pain in my right foot which caused my foot to go numb whenever I ran.
To tackle the problem head on I began doing exercises I had learnt on an Anatomy in Motion course. With the help of my colleague Liam we figured out that the cause of my foot pain was actually my pelvis being out of alignment. We worked on some exercises to bring my pelvis back to ‘centre’ and after a couple of sessions I attempted a couple of short runs. Amazingly I was pain free! I headed over to Paris with no expectations of beating my previous London marathon time and just hoping to finish! However I beat my London time by 3mins and more importantly experienced no pain in my foot or anywhere else! Get in touch with Liam and find out more about our movement therapy, it really does work wonders!’

How do you stay in shape?

I keep in shape purely by giving every workout my all. I’m always pushing that bit more, going that bit further or trying to get that slightly quicker time and by doing so my body responds. I keep my training fun by mixing it up but at he same time I’m always keeping it goal orientated so that I’m always progressing.
